Design Sprint Generates Innovative Energy

Challenge: A large North American property casualty insurer faced an imminent loss of knowledge as experienced field agents retired. The client was unsure how to prevent such loss and engage a younger workforce.

Solution: We conducted a "hackathon"-inspired design sprint. Our team blended outside expertise in emerging technologies with the client’s expertise in property claims. By focusing on virtual reality and other new technologies like drones and AI-enhanced photo analytics, we produced six practical implementation strategies to address pre-determined business challenges.

Outcome: The design sprint resulted in the adoption of some of the strategies brainstormed, energized employees, and allowed them to think creatively and come up with new and innovative solutions to the challenges they faced. The strategies also re-energized the field operations department. Our innovative solution helped the client to prevent knowledge loss and engage a younger workforce, resulting in better business outcomes.
